PackSync: Support & FAQ

Need help with PackSync? Below are answers to common questions. If you don't find what you're looking for, email us at support@codewithtrong.com.

Do I need an account to use PackSync?

Yes. PackSync requires you to create a free account with your email and a password before you can plan or join any trip.

Can I use PackSync without other people, just for myself?

Yes. You can create a trip and use every feature (packing lists, itinerary, map, expenses) solo, inviting others is optional, done via a shareable invite link from within the trip.

Does PackSync process payments when I split expenses with friends?

No. PackSync calculates who owes whom based on the expenses you log, and shows you the simplest way to settle up, but it doesn't move any money. You settle up with your travel companions however you normally would (cash, Venmo, etc.), outside the app.

Will PackSync track my location all the time?

No. Location sharing is off by default and only ever active for a specific trip if you turn it on yourself. You can stop sharing at any time, and it only shares with the members of that one trip, never publicly.

Does the packing list work if I don't have signal, like on a plane or somewhere remote?

Yes. Your packing list is cached on your device, so you can check items off with no connection. Everything syncs back up automatically once you're back online.

Can I sign in with Apple or Google instead of a password?

Not currently, PackSync uses email and password sign-in today.

Is PackSync available on both iPhone and Android?

Yes, PackSync is built for both iOS and Android from a single codebase.

PackSync is developed by Trong Le, doing business as CodeWithTrong.
