Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PackSync ("the App"), developed by Trong Le, doing business as CodeWithTrong ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Description of the App

PackSync is a collaborative travel-planning app for groups: shared itineraries, packing lists, expense splitting, group chat, polls, notes, reservation tracking, and an optional live location map, built around real-time sync between trip members.

2. Expense Splitting Is Not Payment Processing

PackSync helps you calculate who owes what based on the expenses you log. It does not process payments, move money, or link to any bank account or payment provider. Settling up with your travel companions happens outside the App, however you would normally do it.

3. Account and Trip Data

The App requires an account to use. Trips are shared only with the members you invite. You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you or your trip members enter, and for managing who you invite to a trip.

4. Location Sharing

Live location sharing is optional and off by default. If you enable it, your location is shared with the members of that specific trip only. Accuracy and update frequency depend on your device and network conditions and are not guaranteed.

5. Reliability

PackSync is under active development. The following are provided on a best-effort basis and not guaranteed:

• Offline packing-list data syncs once you're reconnected, not instantly, and conflicting edits from multiple offline users are resolved on a last-write-wins basis.
• Weather forecasts and place search rely on free third-party APIs with no uptime guarantee.
• Push, email, or webhook notifications depend on third-party delivery services and are not guaranteed to arrive.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and branding, is owned by the Developer and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to the App's intellectual property other than the limited right to use the App for its intended purpose.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App, including but not limited to disputes between trip members over expenses, missed notifications, or sync delays. Your sole and exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction with the App is to stop using it.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Developer from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to the App or Terms

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We may discontinue or modify the App at our discretion.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas.
